About the Author

D. Brown has a Masters in Personality and Social Psychology specializing in Individual Differences. She has worked in the field of research, evaluation and education for over 25 years at universities, not for profits, and government.

Her most recent credentials include an Advanced DIR/Floortime® Certificate through the International Council on Learning and Development (ICDL) in 2016. She practices a developmental approach to parenting using DIR/Floortime. She is the Parent Advocate for ICDL, the home of DIR/Floortime.

What brought her to creating this service website was the severe brain inflammation of her 2-year-old son in 2011 which preceded his 2012 autism diagnosis. Her research background had her searching for ways to help her son recover from his severe brain injury and support his ensuing challenges and development, and she found what she was looking for in the DIR model of Dr. Stanley Greenspan.

Now she is determined to save parents and most importantly, children, the agony of going through harmful ‘treatments’ and ‘therapies’ by educating them about this intuitive and effective developmental practice that puts the child in the lead by respecting who they are and what they need, and helping you understand how to best support them.
